Dementia Signage

Our Dementia signs have recently been installed on the “care of the elderly” wards at the newly built Whiston Hospital in Merseyside, and other hospitals throughout the North West.

On initial search the people involved in choosing the signage that communicates satisfactory with people with Dementia and alzheimer’s could not find any signs on the market that was of the standard required for the new hospital. They requested a meeting with GSB Signs to see if we could supply an answer to the problem.

We took their comments away and discussed the problem with our graphic designer who came up with an initial draft. After numerous alterations to colour, line definition and size we finally came to a satisfactory conclusion.

The newly installed signs have encountered praise from Consultants, Doctors, Nurses and all concerned. This is just one of the many positive feedbacks we have had from all.

“The new signs that have been put in the Department of Medicine for Older People are working well. The signage helps and supports patients who are in hospital to find their way around more safely and easily. Many patients, including those who have dementia, will most certainly benefit from this initiative and these very important new signs”
